Led light bar 6v

I have a 1948 John Deere model m I use to haul hay. I was wondering if a 72w 12" light bar would work on the 6v system. Thank you

Does it give a voltage on it? If LED and rated for 12 volt than it probably won't work on 6 volt. A picture of the tag would help if you have it already.

If it did come on at all it would be quite dim. I had the same question about my 6V tractors and asked my EE colleagues at work what would happen. One of them hooked up an LED lamp he had laying around (one intended as an ag vehicle work light so similar in size to what I was considering for my tractors) to an adjustable voltage power supply and there was a huge difference in brightness between 6 and 12 volts. As dim as it was at 6V I figured it was no better than the stock incandescent lamps I already have.

At Harbor Freight the other day I bought a handful of lights. They are red triangles and fit in the palm of your hand. You can have LED flashlight, red triangle, or flashing red triangle. They are very bright and have a little hook. I bought enough to put two on the backs of loaded hay wagons. I don't have much roading to do with hay, but it makes me nervous to not see around it. I have a left turn into the drive and usually end up stopping and getting out of the tractor to make sure some dillrod isn't about to pass me on the left.

I would just put a 6V regulator in line with the 12V supply instead of tying to get 6V lights.

It will depend entirely on how the LED light bar is constructed to control the voltage to the LEDs. The LEDs themselves will have an operating voltage of somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5 volts.
