After reading ALL of the answers and talking with some folks,I decided to go ahead and buy it.However, after a more thorough 'test drive',I found the MultiPowerWill NOT shift out of low.No slipping/hesitateing...It just wont shift when the handle is moved. What could cause this? the tractor has just sat for about 6 years. Is it possible something is stiking? couls a seal have dried up and letting fluid by.Any ideas? The deal is on hold for the time being. Thanks for all the replys. Steve

Steve check and see if the linkage on the transmission is actually moving. Some of the MF where spring loaded in one direction and the lever/linkage pulled them one way and the spring worked the valve the other way. If the valve stuck on those they would one stay in one side of the multi-power. If the external linkage is working I would RUN from this deal. DO NOT let thoughts of a big cab tractor sway you into buying this potential money pit. I just talked to a fellow at a parade today that had two of the MF 1155s. The last one blew the Multi-power out and cost him $7500 in parts alone to fix it. He traded both of them off on CIH. He wanted nothing more to do with AGCO.

I had a short stint at the local MF dealer(1975/1976),when they work, the MFs are one of the best tractors out there for the way the hydraulics worked. Draft control on the draw bar was one innovation, the bad thing is, every time something breaks you split the tractor and then split your wallet.
