quasar energy

I googled quasar energy. Quasar is the company wanting to use Duke energy coal gasification plant to make fertilizer. Looks like an interesting company. Has anyone heard of them? good or bad?

Like many companies wanting to come to Terre Haute, I'm sure someone won't want them to come to town. Recently another energy company wanted to come to Terre Haute to turn the City's sewer sludge into oil. Too many people didn't want it in their backyard. Deal fell through.

Looks to me like there is going to be more green energy companies turning waste into energy. Footnote, green energy still has carbon in it, so don't look for government to give then a tax break, unless it local people handing out tax abatements.

Quasar has a little plant east of me 15 miles (and I'm glad it's not closer), they "cook" manure and make a kind of methane gas from it,, and wow does it ever stink,, I would say that it is heavily funded by Government "Green" money, I don't see how it could ever make money on it's own merits, they have semi tankers hauling manure in and then back out...

That's hard to believe government is having anything to do with funding a carbon fuel. Not saying they are not.

Lol. If you read the post yesterday about fertilizer you must realize that even implying that manure stinks means you are anti farmer and should move to the city.

There's nothing new about the government subsidizing carbon fuels - just look at ethanol. Just because something is a carbon fuel doesn't necessarily mean it's a fossil fuel.

Yes you are right about ethanol. Government hates coal, carbon based fuel. Hates the idea of the XL pipe line. Doesn't ethanol help clean up the emissions produced by the burning of gasoline?
