Weather can change your plans

Was going to bale this little field of grass hay dry for heifers , but weather man seemed sure it was going to rain . So just before dark last evening I went out and baled it . This morning my sweat heart and I are wrapping it in the rain because it never got dry. Sure wife will get dry after a while, lol . 24 bales cost $80.00 worth of plastic wrap. Might seem pricey to some , but rained on hay is not worth much either. Bruce

First measurable rain here in three weeks, got about half inch by noon, and grateful for it. You'll have to teach your wife to operate the cab tractor, then you can stand out in the rain......! Ben

As hard as your wife works around there, "sweat heart" may not be far from the truth! lol. I believe that's called a "Freudian slip" of the tongue.
Count your blessings. I grew up on a dairy, and my mother hated it. She did the garden, canned umpteen quarts of stuff, cooked for the work crew, etc. but to the best of my knowledge, never went to the barn except to tell Dad he had a phone call, or some such.

On the subject of rain and plans, I just finished my last cutting for the year and the weather man said it might rain. I weighed the odds and cut it anyway with potential rain for the next 2 days with blue skies forecast after that. Looking at the Intellicast forecast, I figured if I did get hit it would be just a sprinkle and gone the next day which wouldn't hurt much of anything.

But I won this one...seldom happens but I'll take it. All tucked away, nice and cozy.
