Need 4x4 front end advice on a tractor

This tractor has a 4 71 Detroit and is a 4x4. The original transfer case went bad and has been replaced with one from another same brand tractor.
The original was able to take out of 4x4--this other one is full time 4x4. I wanted to be able to take it out of 4x4--so on the transfer case side is a solid 2 inch dia. 2 1/2 ft. long piece that slides into a little larger round piece . Have a bolt that goes all the way thru both pieces.
This bolt shears. What ideas are out there to put these two pieces together that will hold, but can be taken apart if I don't want to be in full time 4x4????

thank you

On some big trucks they have that system now and they break at a specified torque, Like 1500 ft lbs. how much torque do you think you need. Maybe you can use a harder bolt. or make the two shafts fit a little tighter.

I will go out on a limb and say when you changed transfer cases you have a gear ratio that either the front is out running the back or visa/versa . The build up of drive line difference is shearing the bolt. Jack the unit up and make a mark on one rear and one front. Turn one a completer turn and see where the other one is.

The tractor has a Dozer blade on it and I was pushing a big pile of dirt. The bolt is small--less than 1/2 inch.
Probably would not have trouble if not pushing hard clay. Will give it a try doing some other type of work. Just not sure what I HAVE IS THE BEST Option. They way I have it with a shaft inside a round cylinder--and it is a very tight fit, but will turn inside if it shears the bolt and not go wild..............

Or just put the tractor in 4WD and the trans in neutral and roll it on a hard dry surface like concrete if it starts to bind up the gear ratios are off.
Friend of mine found out his new JD had the wrong tires from the factory that way.
