It just keeps getting better. Bulk tank compressor dying now, too. Truck mechanic figgers the injector screens are plugged up from the dirty fuel on the truck. Valve covers gotta come off. $35 apiece to have the injectors tested after cleaning. New injectors, if needed-------------$280 apiece! At least it's nice to know my mechanical diagnosing skills haven't deserted me entirely. I was betting on plugged injectors!

Waukesua had a pretty good idea with the pencil injectors, didn't they? Last time I checked even refurbished injectors for an 88 were only $28 from the local diesel shop.

Top of the fuel tank rusted through under both tank bands. Losta rust and then outside dirt contamination. The position of the rusted spots were not visible unless the tank was removed. Had no inkling anything was wrong until the truck died.
