Brother in law had an incident today

Some of you in Michigan and Ohio might know my brother in law Kevin Hayslett. We thought he had a massive heart attack this morning. They flew him to Grand Rapids and did a heart cath. Cindy called and said he was out of surgery but they were keeping him tubed and sedated. She called back just a little while ago and said he has pneumonia on top of his COPD,so they were going to keep him tubed and knocked out for now. She said his chest was so full of fluid that it acted like a heart attack, but as far as they know,it's just pneumonia, but with his COPD,it's serious. They might have to drain his chest.
He's the guy in the bibs and lime green shirt running his Keck Gonnerman on the sawmill at Oakley. He's been a member of the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Assn and the Dark County Steam Threshers Assn in Ohio and was a regular at the Blanchard show too.

I had sorted a load of cattle this morning, backed the trailer up to the barn and came in for breakfast. I had my boots on and was headed out to load them when the phone rang. The wife answered it and I knew pretty quick it wasn't for me,so I headed out. She came out and said it was Cindy. Kevin was in bad shape and she couldn't get him in the car alone to take him to the emergency room,so she needed to go help her. I loaded up and came back in the house. She still wasn't back in half an hour,so I was just trying to call her when I saw the ambulance come by. Kim was right behind it and pulled in the driveway. She came in the house shaking her head and said "He's bad.". She said he couldn't walk, couldn't talk, and his face was drooping. She said she called 911 as soon as she saw him.
We went ahead and took the load to the sale barn and got back at noon. I went out to cut hay and she went right to the hospital. She came out about an hour later and said they were flying him to Grand Rapids.

That's all I know for now. I'll keep anybody posted who wants to know how he's doing.

He's from Ohio originally. He lived in West Milton before moving up here to Michigan. Both of his parents have passed away.

Sorry to hear that Randy. I hope everything works out well.
I think I remember him driving that KG to the show in Stanton.

I talked to him last year at Blanchard. Nice guy, talked to me and my buddy for about a hour about his steamer. That guy knows every nut, bolt, and flyspeck on that machine. Hope he gets better!

Mother in law just went through the same thing, chest full of fluid, they thought it was a heart attack at fist too.

On the bright side, she recovered quickly - hopefully his result will be the same.
