back up camera update

I decided to get a camera from Walmart.com. Its a Pyle for $89.00. I got it today and its really simple. I ordered the truck model because it comes with a 50 cord, which I will need pulling the hay trailer. Anyway, it only has 3 wires to connect, a ground, a hot, and a reverse wire. I wired the reverse and the hot to the hot on a lighter plug and the black to the ground. That way I plug it into the lighter, roll out my cable and stick it on the back. Done. The camera gets power through the cable hooked to the monitor. I put it on the hay trailer and drove around some, I think I will like it. I have not seen what it does with the sun behind me yet. Maybe this evening. The camera is weather-proof too.

That's what I put on my truck. I wired mine so it only comes on when I'm backing up. Someone from YT recommended it. Yours should have a place for a second camera and a zoom. Works well in low light too. geo.

You can also get them with out the need of a cable. It is basically a wifi unit. The camera would get its power from a vehicles license light.

I have a wireless one om my truck. Ain't worth a darn. always flickering. I have a hard wired one on another truck and it works fine. Get your power from your backup lights if you are wanting to use it as a backup camera.
