Hard for me to believe but it's been 32 years ago that my wife had her stroke ... left her left side unusable.. can't walk so been in a wheelchair ... she figure out how to do things with only her right arm .. she does the washing , cooking { but I have to take the HOT stuff off the burner or out of the oven } ... she does a lot for being in the chair ...
She can transfer , from the chair to bed or toilet .. thank goodness for that ...

She is sitting by her tractor { Case "S" 1951 ,same year she was born } I get to drive it he-he ....

Just wanted to share .. time does go on ........... mark

I forgot to say ... she DOESN"T get a dime ... we fall in a loop-hole .. that's what they tell us ..

She NOW can get some $$$ , from SS , because she's of age and I'm that old too...

Sounds like you got a keeper, A few challenges I am sure, but some of us have them, I too have a wonderful loving wife and she has been a blessing to me. Mine is also a good worker around our home. Around these parts they say a working wife is better then a pumping oil well and I would agree with that statement.

That's awful inspiring. Your dedication for staying by her side the whole time is impressive too. Some leave when the going gets tough.

I have been told that I will most likely. Be in a chair in the next year or two. Scares me when I think about my life being over. But people like your wife. Show me that life will go on.Thank her for me.

Good for her! Let me know when she needs new front tires and I'll fix you up for an address. Looks like 6"x 2". I make several thousand wheelchair wheels & tires a year. I also use a wheelchair at work. Not much at home.

mrs 730 has been in a wheel chair for last 8? years do to M.S. she can't use her legs at all her upper body and mind work fine

May God Bless you both!

My dad was a leg amputee due to wounds received in WWII. He stayed on active duty and retired in 71 as a Sergeant Major. Mom was handicapped too. People how want to do while others with the same exact problem expect people to do for them. Your wife is a fine example of the first type. But you sir are to be commended. Lot of guys out there would have skipped out on a situation like that. You, standing by her as you have is inspiring. We have a 2nd cousin who was diagnosed with cancer the first time when she was in her early 20's, young wife and mother. Hubby couldn't deal with it and skipped. She beat it. Then she remarried about 30 and shortly was diagnosed with cancer again. New hubby, a cop, skipped. Same deal. She again beat the cancer and remarried a couple of years ago. Now in her mid 40's she has again remarried and again has cancer. This husband is sticking by her. Takes a good man.

My dad has been in a wheel chair for 33 years. Broke his back when a horse went down with him. He had lost his right hand 10 years prior, so he had to learn how to operate a manual chair with his hook. Would never use an electric chair up until the last year or so. He will be 81 this year. Ran a tractor up until he sold his place 6 years ago.

I commend you on being the caregiver for your wife!! Mom has stood by Dad this entire time, and it amazes me how she does it.

looks good, and has a good attitude, ive wondered what id do if or when i get put in one as far as enjoying my tractors, i havent tried it, but there should be some way to take something like a farmall cub, A or B and use its hydraulics to lift a platform up to their flat operators station and make some clamps to lock a chair in place so it can be driven by a chair bound person, brakes and clutch should be easy enough to rig using the non hydraulic lift arm handles that were on these units? might be a good project

I love the people who have the power to say ( CAN'T ) isn't in their vocabulary.

My father was in a accident in 1957, lost 100% of his eye site at the age of 29.
He built kitchens, gun cabinets, china hutch's, We turned out 10,000 turkeys call
per week for Scotch Game Call Co. He built house's, overhauled engines & we took
care of 8000 laying hens rebuilt hay wagons, manure spreaders for about every farmer
in the county. About the only thing he couldn't do was Hunt & Drive. He could lay 4
course's of shingles faster than my brother & I could + they were straighter & never
bent a nail over.

Not many 29 year old men today could or would have done what Dad did with out any kind
of public assistance + raise 4 children by himself dew to a divorce.. My Sister at the age
of 12 raise her 3 siblings paid all the bills, kept the house/cloths & dish's clean. Today she
is a happy married woman who has a very well to do life & a house keeper. She deserves it!
We were a very happy family. Sadly he passed away at the age of 46 from a brain tumor.
I Miss him everyday.

my wife also, had a stroke in 1992, leaning to adapt to your circumstances is what it is about. GOD bless you and your wife

In contrast my FIL had a stroke and wouldn't do any of the exercises that they told him to do after rehab. Wouldn't walk, wouldn't do anything, would just sit and watch TV all day. Ended up a near invalid. Nearly killed my MIL, who is a great lady, taking care of him. He passed last December, it was a bit of a blessing for him and us.

Bless your wife for her courage.
