It's been one of those days. We have had an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. I'm never one to turn away June rain, but there are 700 acres of beans not in yet. It's been hot so it is drying pretty quick. I had to tie up the header on the combine to be ready to cut wheat - that will be Sunday most likely. Then the pump went out on the sprayer so I resealed it. Then I serviced the 8430 to cultivate ground to plant beans. At that point I saw the water pump was out on it. I've spent a couple of hours getting that off - the new one comes in the morning. I'm beat. I just walked in the door to shower so we can go to dinner with friends. I don't feel like eating - water is the only thing that sounds good. I just looked at my phone. The heat index is 119 degrees. No wonder. I can't wait to get up in the morning and start living the dream all over again.

Got 1.03" in about 10 hours here. Turned in with heavy rain and 78. Woke up at 4 to light rain and 64. Stayed cool al day. Not a puddle in sight since we haven't had any rain in about 3 weeks. Supposed to be 90's by mid week.

All the best to you. I only had a 1/4 section of land and raised registered sheep. From all the woes that come into this forum, I'm glad I gave up when I did. Oddly enough, I made a profit on my enterprise, and was proud of my work. But , Ole Schmidt ! it weren't any wheres as easy as I though it could be. Kudos to all that farm ! ;^)

Here I thought we had a new Pope.

Ya,the heat isn't too bad here since the humidity is fairly low. I got back to cutting hay for the first time in a week, but about two hours in,I blew the radiator on the 2-105. I hauled it home with the 2-135,then hooked that to the discbine and finished the field I was cutting.
Of course then I had to pull the radiator out and take that to the shop. I needed to grind feed, was almost done and a belt pulley that runs the auger that feeds the mill, split, bent and took out a roller chain in the process. So,off to town to get a pulley. Got that fixed and finished grinding.
The 135 has been making quite a banging noise on the bumps. Checked that and there was a cab mount loose with some of the rubber discs gone,so I fixed that. I'll have to bale with that since the guy at the radiator shop said he'd have to recore that radiator and it would likely be Wednesday or Thursday before it's done.

This stuff is so much fun some days.

Yep. I worked my fingers to the grindstone back in the day. Was fit and healthy. Now I'm 40# heavier, but still fit an healthy at 70. I miss the whole deal, but, not that much.

I thought that kind of stuff only happened to you when you work on Sunday. It does sound like a normal day for me. I rember a guy telling me about disc mowers when they first came out saying it looks just like your lawn when your done mowing with one, my comment to him was heck when I'm done mowing with my junk it's all setting on my lawn so I can fix it to use it again so what is the difference and he didn't think what I had to say was funny and walked away shaking his head.

Glad to hear you got some rain. Here in South Central Illinois we could use a good rain. My wife and I have been watering some new trees that we planted in the spring of 2015 plus some new peach and apple trees this year plus our canaloupes in the garden. The last few days have been very hot today was tollerable.

Please stay hydrated and cool off when you can! Take breaks as you need to so you can stay healthy!

Yesterday my I-phone told me that I had walked 6.5 miles and climbed 87 flights of stairs. I don't recall being in any buildings except my own house though.
