Ford engines for power unit

Did Ford ever use the 175 engine of the 3000 tractor on any stationary power units? I am thinking about putting one of these engines on my baler because my wisconsin is getting wore out,but I am wondering how I can connect the belt pulley to the flywheel that is why I was wondering about the stationary engine to see how they connected a shaft to the flywheel for a pulley or whatever. Thanks

It's just a matter of making a bolt on adapter. It could share the bolts holding the flywheel to the crank, or could bolt to the face of the flywheel.

If you know of a junk yard for ditchwitch machine several of the older ditchwich 4 wheel trenchers used that engine with a factor bell housing that had a output shaft. By the time you get the radiator, tail shaft and engine up on the baler you may be too heavy on the front end.

Yes Ford did. I bought a 172 engine that had powered an orchard sprayer. It had a special flywheel with 2 or maybe 3 V-belt groves and a spline for a PTO type shaft. I no longer have the parts. I just used the flywheel off my NAA that I put the engine into. Ford also made a lot of 8-N industral/ stationary engines. Some of the early implements had their own engines as the old Ford 9-2-8-N'sdidn't have the power to pull and run bailers and such. joe

Not sure on the 175, but I have a couple of 268T's with SAE bell housing adapters and rockford clutches that were on leaf loaders. Same engine bolt pattern so everything should bolt right up.

Maybe a stupid comment but why not use the flywheel from the wisconsin and mount it to the flywheel on the ford.

Why not use modern V twin Briggs or Honda, Kawasaki. Lot litgher and easier to mount. That engine with sae bell housing and front mount will be 500# plus/mines.
