Looking at Lincoln grease guns ..Does more voltage mean longer lasting? any advantages?..seeing some 12volts ,18 and 20..thanks in advance..

I would recommend you don't buy a Lincoln. The Milwaukee M12 is much more compact and built tougher. I used both heavily on a farm, and the Lincoln was too big and batteries would fall out and screws would come loose. Try a Milwaukee, then you'll have the same batteries if you wanted other tools. Good luck and enjoy!

I bought a dewalt a little over a year ago. I have other dewalt 18 volt tools so it made sense to share the batteries. This spring it started to develop problems with drawing grease from the tube. I have completely disassembled it but can find nothing wrong. Very disappointed in it, its now in the scrap barrel. Got my old manual Lincolns back out and they still work perfect after almost 30 years of constant work.

Had the same problem with my Lincoln. Bought an m18 Milwaukee and never had a problem with it and takes same batteries as all my other tools.

We have about 4 around here. One is a 18v Linclon and have really never had any problems with it. One of the other ones is a cheapie from Harbor Freight that is probably 8 years old and still works fine. When one grease the boom on an excavator it takes two or three tubes of grease and 30 minutes or more so ours do get used.

MN Scott,
I agree with you 100%, get a grease gun you already have batteries for. I got my gun as soon as dewalt came out with them. Not the first problem. If it breaks, I get another one. geo

Used a Lincoln at work and never had a problem greasing with it but it was pretty bulky. Son brought home a Alemite when he worked at TSC. It was junk. Bought a 12 volt Milwaukee and really like it. Nice and light.

I bought a 12v Lincoln about ten years ago, it lasted about 4 years and then the internal gears stripped. Bought a high end Alemite and am amazed at pumping maybe 10-12 tubes of grease before a recharge is needed. It has plenty of power for hard to grease fittings. I recently added a locknlube tip to it for one handed greasing. I am very pleased with the Alemite so far.
