I can't get Google Chrome to open with it. I click the icon, the little blue arrow spins for a few seconds and it won't open. I tried right clicking, then clicking on the bar to open it. The same thing happens.
Do I need to reload something to make that work now?

This is the gift that keeps right on giving.

You have to make sure google chrome is your web browser. When windows 10 is downloaded to your computer a different browser is defaulted to be your internet browser. Check that and pick google chrome as your web browser. I had this problem also and had to re-set my browser.

Chrome worked OK for me after upgrade at work.

Just found this online (in more than one link)...hopefully it will do the trick for you:

Right-click on Chrome Icon > Properties > Compatibility.

Clear/remove any check-mark for "Run this program in compatibility mode".

Then try to restart Chrome.

Thinking I will figure out the glitches at work before I consider upgrading at home... don't want to have to "sledge hammer" my own computer.

I see a lot of references to upgrading. One thing I learned years ago is that I NEVER "upgrade". I always build the machine up from scratch, i.e. build up Windows 10 from scratch. I have worked in IT field for several years, and I have seen a lot of issues upgrading the operating system, and the upgrade process leaves a lot of garbage behind. Building from a clean formatted drive is always best, but I also know that the risk is that doing so will mean copying or backing up your personal files, shortcuts, bookmarks etc. I usually purchase a new disk and keep the old disk as my backup then move over what I need.

I left for three hours and when I came back,it was up.

Now another problem. I was just listening to WSM online for about 20 minutes, the speakers started buzzing and it shut down. The Windows 10 screen came up. When I tried to get off that screen,I had to enter my password again. Every time the computer goes to sleep,I have to reenter the password.
This is getting old. How do I stay logged in and,how do I keep it from going to sleep when it's running something like a radio stream? Two separate problems in my book.

It should come up when I click the icon shouldn't it? It wasn't my default when I had 7,but it came right up when I clicked it. That's why I asked if I have to download something new to run it on this piece of crap too.

Hard for me to understand all the trouble.....after mine upgraded I clicked on the Google icon and it came up same as before?? I'm pulling Wi-Fi from my son's router at his house 150' away here at the farm in po-dunk E SD,

Go into your power settings and choose "Don't Require PW"
