makeing a road trip.

I have to admit my dad is 86 years old he wants another road trip. I grew up with parents that owned a R.V unit an durning the summer we would take two weeks off on a road trip. Back when the towers where hit my parents where on the road going to New york and Washington D.C. The John deere was not alowing visiters to tour thre plant at that time. Dad was not able to visit the plant. So like a good son I planing a trip to go this summer. I hope on this road trip to stop off and visit who ever that wants us to come see them. I plan to leave Bishop Ca. and head out to the John Deere plant. Yes we like: tractor salvage yards, tractor shows, plus we are a member of the I.H.C. chapter 14 (Californa) and Engine Gas & Tractor Assn. Inc. branch 132 (nevada). My dad grew up on a farm and enjoys just talking to those who are farming. I think some times every body blows his mind when he sees how farm equipment changed form a famall F-14.So if you want us to stop in and meet you just write to me we will put you in the trip plans. thanks. Brent.

I forgot to say I told my employer to take a hike I took the summer off of work. My dad is more important right now the road trip is what he needs after loseing mom. So my road trip has no time limit just as long as his truck can tow the wheeler.

You will have the best time of your life. Maybe take a tape recorder.
My dad was 90 and I told him we will go as far as he was willing. First day half way up the state of Wisconsin and stopped at his brother first time they seen each other in a couple years. Next day went almost into Michigan no need for a radio they never quit talking. We made it by midday my cousin set this part up first time my aunt seen her brothers in 10 plus years . My cousin was all worried about my dad she found out she needn't have bothered . I will never forget my aunt saying your going to make me bawl she didn't last long and started crying that is something you will never buy that memory. Late in the day we drove back to my uncles . We stayed in a motel that really went out of there way I didn't want to stay at my uncles I figured that time would be better spent talking then making beds. Next year I wanted to go again and my dad was up for it but my sister told my dad he couldn't go so I picked up my uncle and went to my aunts . I did that for several years but unfortunately my dad never went again because my sister didn't want him to go .

Why not settle it the old fashioned way. Vote. you. your sister, and your Dad each get one. LOL

My dad will be 91 in a few days. He wants to go to Madrid NM where he was born. I told him I would drive him up there in August. 8 hr trip before stops. I think it will be great.

To late my dad passed away at 100 . My parents always catered to my sister she pulled the same stunt with my mother. That day my dad literally snuck out of town . I probably wouldn't have bothered with my dad but I knew that would be something special for my aunt and uncle. It's unfortunate that my sister who put money and control over the memories I have . It's like when he is talking about a road trip with family you can always make money but not memories

Have a great trip and be thankful that you are in the position to take the summer off! Take good care of your dad too. He may be spry but he's old. If need be take an extra day someplace and let him rest.
