I was sandblasting my Oliver plow yesterday after dinner and went back in the shop to get something-well I have been reusing my sand by putting blue tarps under what I am blasting. I was only using one and had the other tarp in shop--tripped over the da-- thing. Fell on the cement, floor landed on my head, laid there awhile-wife found me and helped me up and took me to emergency room. MRI and X-rays-kept me awhile, nothing broken. Painkillers and sent home. So my savings on reusing the sand were ate up by 4 hours in the E-room. No fool like an old fool. O yea when I got home I went back out to the shop and my "artists"--Son and grandkids had marked the scene of the accident.....Tee P.s.-----A couple of Schmidt lights and a Hydrocodon you sleep like a baby.

Glad you are OK.

If you are on blood thinners, have someone keep an eye on you for a couple of days, my dad got clunked, then started bleeding later.

Dang - that's some shiner!! Glad you are doing OK.

Nice that you and your family all have a good sense of humor. :)

Glad you seem to be OK. Take it easy for a day or two. As far as saving sand. It looks like your on a concrete floor. So why have the tarps laying around??? I just sweep mine back up and run it through a screen as I load the sand blaster for the next round.

My sister recently had some dental work done and it made the outside of her jaw very dark....similar to your face. Anyway, she mentioned that when she was in church a lot of the people gave her husband a dirty look. Without asking, of course, they figured that my brother-in-law had socked her in the jaw and bruised her. (Brother-in-law is very mild man, wouldn't hurt a flea...)
So how many people will be thinking that your wife got out her best cast-iron flying pan and put it to use?

My wife works at the bank. We went shooting a few weekends ago and she tried shooting a Styer AUG for the first time.

I didn't think about it being a bullpup style rifle and the spent cartridge ejecting as far back as it did. So, when she shot, the case flew up, hit the brim of her hat, and dropped behind her safety glasses and laid on her right cheek bone, just under her eye.

It left her with a nasty looking bruise/burn, that she had to explain more than once to her coworkers when she went in on Monday morning, when asked if 'there was anything they could help her with'...........

Needless to say, I think she will stick with her AK....LOL

Shouldn't mix alcohol and meds, granddaughter of some friends did that about a month ago and she is no longer with us. 20 or 21 years old.

A few scares add character , right ? Hope you recover quickly .And I know how important a good night sleep is but, you don't want to sleep like a baby . Babies wake up crying several times through the night , and have messed their pants . lol

Perhaps you need to use more sand. Cushion the fall.

I've never even bought blast sand. I use all purpose sand from my local lumber company and sift the larger grit out of it with a box covered with screen wire. I recycle it too but normally do sand blasting outdoors.

good that yer ok, but on another note I tried to reuse sand once and found that it was pretty useless as it took twice the amount to get the same result,..do you notice any difference in the second use ????

Man I'm glad no permanent damage and OK. Funny I'm about your age and took a h#ll of fall Sunday; hit my head and rolled over down a grade. Fortunately I hit soft soil and only have a headache and stiff neck.
Finish the job when you're feeling better.!!

(quoted from post at 03:59:40 06/07/16) You sure it happened that way? Looks like she said "Shutup" and you thought she said "Standup".(LOL)

Yea that's what I'm thinking, looks more like damage from a rolling pin!

Hope yer feeling better!

Rick
