In the 70's CW and Mavis from the Old Home bread commercials were in Brookings ,SD one weekend, we sometimes went there after church to have dinner and made a point of stopping by the mall to see them on that particular Sunday, I was probably nine or 10 at the time and remember that she looked a whole lot older than she did on tv

The radio station I listen to has about 50% new country, and 50% older country. They had that song in the rotation just the other week, heard it a lot again.

47 years ago today on the 5th of June 1969 Rivet Amber fell from the sky, all hands lost (19), she was a RC135 reconnaissance Airplane on a shuttle flight between Shemya Alaska and Eielson AFB Alaska. She and the crew rest at the bottom of the Bearing sea. This was only a few months after her sister ship Rivet Ball was lost in a landing accident at Shemya AFB, Alaska

Don't know about Rubber Ducks, but back in 1944 the Military was getting their Donald Ducks (amphibious tanks) ready for the Normandy landings on the 6th.
