A few chains and boomers in the right places would prevent something like this. Probably would have saved this guy's job as well. Many years ago I made my living hauling farm equipment for an IH dealer in Lawrence, KS. I always tied everything down on all four corners. If an overpass looked to low I either went around it or inched up to it make sure I would clear. Sure beats trying to explain a stupid mistake like this.

need more of the story. Did it really hit that overpass? If it did how did it get so far away from the overpass. Also that roll back looks too small to have been carrying the machine.

Friend of mine had a car swerve at him the other day and when he reacted, the planter went on it's side. He said it was a $300,000 swerve.

I don't think it hit the overpass, and altho there were tracks through the ditch and the safety cable was broken, I don't think it came off a truck on the interstate. That is unless it could fall off a truck and roll through the ditch without gouging the pavement or sod. My best guess based on what I saw is that they were towing it behind a truck on that access road and it came unhooked somehow. But I didn't see it happen so that is a guess.
