Spindle repair nut

Years ago the threads stripped on pop's 460. Front bearings on that tri-cycle front end seemed to be a weak point. He got a two part repair kit nut from the local independent auto parts dude. I recall that you snugged up the inner part onto the spindle and then screwed the outer part of the set onto it to make it tight. What I don't remember is what those were called. Help? gm

The are called Wheel clamp nuts.

JD used a splint type nut on the front ends of some of there tractors. Nut has a cut out in one side and then has a bolt and nut that you tighten down to lock in on the spindle. Learned that one when I had a flat tire on my 1935 JD-B and it is on steel wheels. Was told by a guy years ago that I would never have a flat but I told him I have had a flat. He asked me in the world and I said well one of the front wheels fell off and landed flat on the ground
