bees and hummers

Here in east central Mo., Warren County, I don't believe I have seen a dozen honey bees in the last two years. There are usually a couple dozen humming birds around my place. This year, one pair. Are the hummers going the way of the bees ?

Our sons family feed the hummingbirds. This week when I was over I noticed they didn't have the usual numbers
on the feeders. Usually you could see 30 plus but this year only a couple.

We had large numbers of birds around our feeders for years until the west nile virus thing nearly wiped them out. The numbers have never recovered and you are right, we haven't seen a single pair of hummers this year so far. Normally we have 3-4 pairs. The only bird we seem to have normal numbers of are robins

X-Y, same here. As far as humming bird decline, last year we had a lot of
chicken hawks. They haven't shown up this year yet, so hopefully the birds will
regroup. Near Wentzville.

We have flowers hummers like. So I can't say there is a decline in numbers. Give them
something to drink sugar water in a red container.

I wish there was a decline in the wood boring bees. They seem to be alive, well and
drilling holes in wood. Love to kill them.

I must be in the right area. Lots of bees and the Hummers are going through a 1l sugar feeder in less than 4 days. I put up the second feeder (same size) and that has slowed them down a little, still 2l in a week ! Gone through more than 1/2 -10# bag of sugar already !

I keep root beer in the shop fridge . To keep the honey bees out of my can I pour them a can on top of a 55 gallon drum . They are very docile and have no problem with people pouring out more root beer while there are 50 or more on top of the drum .

haven't seen a lot of honey bees but humming birds are back. We have about five now they seem different from last year not as bright of color. Nephew has just started
raising bees, he just has one hive for now.
