Made me a pair of shoes

I saw a guy make a pair of shoes on a tv show. Real expensive probably several grand to have them made. I found the process interesting, so I bought a pair of wood lasts off ebay. I traced my foot and shaped the lasts to my tracing, then made the circimeference match in a few places. Used a 2 by 72 grinder to shape the lasts. I put masking tape on the lasts, drew the shoe then used a knife to cut the tape pattern. The tape became my pattern. Sewed it on a old shoe patcher singer. Now that I have lasts I imagine I can make a set if shoes in just a couple hours. They fit good, will see how they do. Who would of thought it would be so easy. Next time I'll color the leather first.

Did you make the soles and heels too? I have a pair of plires just like that. Didn't know what they were.

We had a factory in Boonville MO. Bobbin heel company.

Building is still there but converted to appartments.

How do you walk around with all those nails in your foot?

Fyi, place in S Indiana makes special shoes from scratch mostly for diabetics. Shoes go for around $500 and more if you need orthotics

Gene, the soles is real easy, just trace and cut with bandsaw, stuff was too tough for a knife. Glue and peg. You just make sure your nailers
don't go through the insole.

I have undertaken some out of the ordinary projects in the past but what you have done tops the charts.
