John deere 250 monitor question

I have a 250 monitor on my 7200 planter, and have it plugged into my outback s-lite. The outback says I am going 4.5mph but the monitor says 3.5 mph. Also the planter is set for 21,000, but is reading 31,000, I am assuming because the two speeds are not matched. The planter book does not cover the monitor, does anyone know how to calibrate the monitor so it reads accurately? I checked the spacing on the kernals and they are spaced for 21,000. Thanks for any help or information.

Yikes! That sounds like a conundrum!

I have a 250 monitor, but it's only plugged into one of those little "hockey puck" GPS antennas from Sensor One. If I'm remembering correctly, a chart came with the antenna with a number to set into the monitor, like maybe 7773? Or maybe I had to search it out on line?

Best of luck. This stuff is great when it works, maddening when it doesn't.

You need the monitor book and calibrate the distance reading it is using. hat is why your seed population is off. The monitor is thinking your dropping to many seeds per foot because the distance calibration is not correct.

Google JD 250 monitor and you should find one to down load.
