I know I asked questions like this before but was hoping for some in put one of my neighbors said he has a couple acres I could farm sounds like it would be rent free and I have an old corn picker I'd love to try and use my question is if I plant this to corn and picked half and shelled the rest or picked the whole thing and sold the ear corn at our local farmers market and we have a harvest festival at my high school I could sell at also I thought I could sell it by the grocery sack? How much should I sell it for? Would I be able to break even? I live in a hunting community to all input is appreciated!

I have a niece and nephew that harvest several acres of ear corn each year they sell bundles of ears as squirrel corn at flea markets and various other regular outlets also, took them a few years to get established but they added acres through the years. They have a pretty good business built up.

Where I live some of the big box stores sell ear corn 6 to 10 ears per bag for about 6 to 7 $ way more then the price per bus , also some of the hunting organizations buy ear corn to give to people in the winter for pheasant and deer food . good luck Bryan

Find some heritage corn like this and it will sell well for decoration in the fall.

if there are deer ,squirrels and coons and crows around and you plant just 2 acres you wont have any to sell anyway. been there ,done that

Some mills need white corn for meal or even blue corn. I grow an open pollinated variety of yellow and and an open pollinated variety of white corn, but it's only for my own use. I keep the deer out with electric fence. I grind some for meal and the chickens get the rest.
