Dodged a bullet

I'm down a deep cycle battery so I don't have one to swap out on fences. With the one here at the home place I just charge it while it is sitting out there. Yesterday I wasn't sure that battery was any good, as it charged all day and was still pulling about 8 amps many hours later. Tonight it hit me - I never unplugged that charger - my old standby Schumacher 2-10-30 amp job. And it rained all day.

I grudgingly went out and it was still working away. And the battery was fully charged. It was probably good for that battery. The charger probably could have done without the water I poured out of it. It would have really fouled my day to lose that old charger. The new Schumacher smart charger I have wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in that rain.

Thanks a LOT,
I got home late and forgot to unload tools. I checked the forecast after reading your post and it is 80% chance of rain by daylight. I just spent 20 minutes bringing tools inside.
Not quite as many as in the pic, but close.
thanks.

You and I have different trucks but similar contents heyseed, I have come home with a loaded down truck before with no chance of rain and a freak storm blows up over night, I need to build a garage I can pull into

What ever you do, build it big! I have a 2 car garage, 24'x40' barn, 30'x48' barn, 13'x48' lean too and a 6'x40' lean too. You can barely walk in any of them. The term "hoarded" has been bandied about, but I see it more as items with no use that are too good to throw out.

Ben I agree, a garage I could pull inside fully loaded would be my dream. I hate loading and unloading tools at the end of a long day and like you the moment I forget and leave them out it will rain. I have said I could end a drought just by leaving my tools and power cords spread out at a job overnight.
Been raining here (near Front Royal, VA) hard for five hours.

Many years ago "early 80s" Front Royal had a really good flea market. I was down in the area at a training school a couple of times and went there. All kinds of neat stuff and some very nice antiques! It is long gone now.

not long gone, they are still there every weekend that it is even close to nice weather. I have found some great deals on tools and even have rented a table two times.
