I need to sell some cans. If the prices are not going to go up, I might as well take as much as my car will haul. Is there any reason to believe that the price will improve soon and that I should wait?
Thank you

Around here the price of cans had went up 7 cents a pound since February. Call your scrap yard and they will tell you the price and you might call several if you have more than one yard because price can vary from yard to yard.

The only thing that is paying around here is copper/brass...I kept my aluminum when I heard of Ford building the F150 with aluminum. I wish I had sold It when the prices were better. I'll keep it for now. Aluminum is the most common Non-ferious (SP?) metal world wide...Bring those cans to Michigan for 10 cents each...LOL.MTP

Mike,

My daughter went to college in Ohio and thought that was a great way to make some extra spending money by bringing empty pop cans back to Michigan on her weekends. Once they put in all the newer machines that calculate the refunds in all the supermarkets the bar codes reject all cans that did not have a deposit paid on them. They are worth 10 cents in Michigan because there was a 10 cent deposit paid on them when purchased. Does not count when purchased outside of Michigan if there was not a deposit collected. This all happened because too many people were throwing them out the window of their cars and littering.
