Cool site, hopefully I can get some ideas here about getting my mod A rolling again. So far I've tried pulling gently with my JD 420C but to no avail the clutch/brake pedals seem frozen, or the motor? It looks like there is a special tool to pull the clutch/brake drum covers off or maybe I have to build one? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You will have to remove the 3 bolts holding the brake assemblies on and pull them out enough to clear the bull gears in the rearend. Then it should roll.but you will probably have to totally rebuild the brake assemblies because they are apparently frozen up.They are not that bad although a heat wrench will be needed to get everything loose.Ron

Also maybe from now on you may want to pose your questions on the John Deere site, theres a lot of knowledgeable folks there that are willing to help.

you said clutch/brake petal. That confused me as it should have hand clutch. Might try turning flywheel back and forth little at a time. while yanking on clutch might just pop out.
