Got the manure spreader up and running, got a wheel bearing in the skid steer to address today. Oh yeah. The clutch started slipping in the 1850 this morning, too. Not to mention the fuel leak in the 1955 an the growling rear brake in my pickup..................................................Yup, spring is here!

Ain't life fun though. I stripped the splines out of the inside of the beater on the New Idea 3732 box spreader a few years back. The shaft was alright for the most part. The splines were the same as a 540 PTO. I took the beater and a half a 540 U-joint to the machine shop. They turned the U-joint down and bored out the beater, put the piece inside the beater and welded it in. It's still going.

The clutch went out on the 2-135 about this time of year three years ago. I put the 1850 on the disc to get oats in and that one started slipping,so I had to do two clutch jobs that year. Now I see why people with money just push them off to the side and buy another new one when things screw up.

Got the skid steer bearing replaced. It really wasn't too bad of a job. Cost 20 clams for the race, 22 for the bearing and $80!!!!! for the chicken-pluckin' seal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the 1955 in and replaced one of those plastic T's on top of the injectors, Lost the rear carrier for the 4WD unit during sugaring. Bolted that back on. The bushings need to be replaced, but they will go for a while yet. Have to wait until we replace the clutch in the 1850. Probably start on that tomorrow. Or the brakes on the truck............or address the crack in the dozer blade frame on the OC-4...........or.......................

Geez you guys ! I had to replace the heavy duty plastic line in my gas powered weed eater. That stuff doesn't like to wrap around the spool - I'm exhausted ! ;^)
