Recent episode had many pieces of agricultural items. Someplace in Kansas as I recall. Many tractors of interesting makes. Anyone know who the pickee may be? Ok Ok my term, if someone is a picker and secures an item would not the seller be a pickee. LOL Sure would be a fellow many on this site would like to meet. Seems as there was a 1925 Case automobile also.

havent any idea who the man is, but there was a lot of neat items, i think the pickers are after a fast turn around and have a cealing price to spend on each item, items like that case are not for picking, that thing is very valuable, it would take a lot of money to buy it , if it is even for sale, and it would take some preparation, and listing it in a high end auction to get the vehicle in front of the people who have the money to buy it. im also wondering about the show, by now surly people realize that if they offer a price the item is probably worth at least twice that at the retail level, i realize the pickers have to make money too, but if they sell every item at twice what they pay for it, that racket is better than the insurance racket isnt it?

Yehbut I wonder how often they sell things for what they claim they're worth. No doubt the bulk of their income is from the show.

You know they make money on the show and not on the stuff they buy. If you truly made your money on buying and selling then they would spend more time at each pick. You see them walking buy tons of stuff and picking up a few items that are interesting on the show. If you are at a pick and the guy is willing to sell at reasonable prices then you clean him out. You take days to go through all of the stuff. You don't spend a couple of hours and buy five things and then get in your car and drive hours to the next pick.

Bill, you got me to thinking. If my finger is a picker, does that make my nose the pickee? Or if I pick my b..., Better stop with nose.

Think about it---it's a TV show and everything is pre-arranged and rehearsed. I suppose the "pickees" could be real people with real clutter but still are probably told what to say and paid for their time.
I enjoy the show and it is interesting what things they get, but a "TV reality-show" is an oxymoron for sure.

My neighbor was a 'pickee' a couple years ago. He, like me, wasn't in a mood to sell and the program showed that. He wasn't 'coached' in what to say (he wouldn't have done it anyway) BUT there was a contingent of fifteen vehicles with production people and cameramen there. He DID know ahead of time when all the people were arriving, so it wasn't a surprise.

Heres the Case car at the Ft Scott,KS show in 2015...The owner is from Parsons,KS and I know him and have seen his collection..
