Feel like being behind

Okay every body eles is like running on time around here. This is my first year that my vegetable garden is not planted yet yes I am behind of my time table. I spent the day working on daddys stuff instead of mine stuff again. I went to see my mom for mothers day (which she feel a sleep in front of me like always) I think she has already forgoten about me (old timmers she has). Getting the back yard ready for 95 cucurmbers, 43 squash, 32 green bell peppers and 32 red bell peppers. The front is almost ready for the hot peppers witch I will seat in tomarrow. These are in the front because if any body takes one there going to get a big schock. Hey I am not a farmer but a gardener who is right now trying to get my drip systems fixed up and runing. So yes I am running behind but I will get every thing done if I keep working hard at it. Than I hope to start pickleing soon again..

Depending on the prevailing climate, some plants will "catch up" sometimes - - and sometimes they won't! You pays your money and takes your chances.

You have company. All we have planted is the spuds. I am in northwest Iowa so the first week in May is not all that late but it is time to get going with it. The weather man is talking a low of 34 in a few days. Not freezing but dangerously close.

Hi, around here you can plant cool weather plants like potatoes, spinach, peas etc., but putting out cukes and corn squash etc. is dicey until may 24.The ice saints could visit traditionally around may 18 or 19. Check internet ice saints. We are eating spinach, radishes, chard now. Hilling potatoes today. Ed Will Oliver BC

I had the best looking garden I've had in my life this year. Last night the neighbor's cattle got out and cratered my yard before seeing the treats in the garden. Pi$$ed doesn't even begin,,,,,,,,,,,,, These guys have farmed all their lives yet there are cattle out somewhere around their place every day or two. I know that they aren't lazy because they go like a house on fire all the time, nights included. I just don't get it. gm

You may be behind on the cool weather crops, but you are early for they "tender" crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and the like.

Running on schedule in south Kansas. Most things are up and put in sweet potatoe slips this morning. Had a bumper crop of asparagus and finally let it grow out because we had eaten and froze and eaten and froze until our urine reeked and the freezer would hold no more!
