Tractor Loader Question

I have never owned a compact utility tractor with a loader, but thinking of buying a used one advertised on Tractorhouse. 40 hp., John Deere w/loader, FWA, Hydro, with 1,100 hrs. on it. It that a lot of hours for a small loader tractor?

No problem at all. I bought a 4100 with 1900 hours on it. Runs fine. You need to do the usual look around to see other issues but those hours itself are not an issue, IMO.

That depends on what it's been used for. Low of hours mowing lawn? Lot of hours loading lite materials? Or was it rode hard and put away wet? 1,100 hrs may be just broke in or about shot.

Before you jump if you are going to have to finance it check deals offered by manufactures. You may actually get lower monthly payments with a lower interest rate buying new.

very tough question...especially if you are buying from a dealer and can't see the homestead where the tractor got its hours.

example.
I have lots of old tractors and one newer loader tractor.
I work/play mostly with my old tractors.
So, every single minute on the hourmeter of the new loader tractor has been tough loader work.

But, with that said, the newer compact tractors are surprisingly tough.
I'm on my third, trading up. No problems with any.
With my first, grilling the dealer (a friend) on do's and don'ts,
a wave of his hand..."use it, don't baby it, don't outright abuse it. It can take it."
He was right...tough.
Mine have been Orange, but I imagine Green is the same.

How it was used might be an issue, but that amount of hours is just broken in.

I'm approaching 2500 hours on a similar Kubota, I've seen other kubotas the same as mine well over 10,000 hours. I'd suspect the JD would hold up similarly.
