Do you snore?

I'm assuming you don't snore while you're driving. Seems like what you do on your own time is none of their business.

My cousin was a teacher. One Friday right after school he drove on the Interstate for a 200 mile drive to his parent's place. All of a sudden he heard snoring so he got scared that someone was in the back seat and he hadn't notice. Nope, nobody else in the car - he was the guy who was snoring while driving down the Interstate highway. That gave him a good scare.

Years ago when I was driving truck I fell asleep just outside Rock Springs, Wyo. one night and woke up just a few miles outside of Rawlins, Wyo. Guess it was a good thing I knew the road pretty well. About a hundred and twenty miles across there.

So, if you are a professional driver you can never never admit that you snore. The connection between sleep apnea and snoring must be the reason for DOT rejection. Right? Did not know that. gobble

I might snore a bit but at my DOT physical it was observed I did not match
the body mass index (bmi) yeah I've been "husky" all my life. So I was forced
to a sleep study or no class 1 renewel. So I passed but insurance wouldn't
cover the home test 100%. Seems some folks get angry when forced to a
overnight sleep study at a clinic, so I was given the take home deal not
knowing insurance wouldn't cover.
Anyway after all was said and done the Dr. Admitted that the system is
biased against older drivers (I'm 55)
So for the privilege of having a license I don't even really need it's
becoming quite a hassle

Last DOT physical I had, the Doc asks me if snoring bothers me at night. I looked at her and said "Well, if I can't sleep because of the snoring, I elbow the wife in the ribs and she shuts up- then I can go back to
sleep!" I don't think that is the answer she was looking for. I was just under the BMI and neck size numbers to have to go for the test.

Who ever came up with this sleep apnea study deal should go try to sleep for the night at a truck stop and see how much rest they get. Preferably next to a fish truck with the refer running wide open all night long...

Scored a 98 on my CPAP last night.
Might get another tractor while SWMBO is dozing?
😀

Years ago I was on a Red Eye flight from Seattle to Hartford CT and I was seated near the front, woke up and the
whole plane was laughing it took less than a minute to figure they were laughing because I was snoring so loud.
They could hear it all the way in the back of the jet. Shortly after that I doctor recommended a CPAP machine and I
never sleep without it. What a huge difference in the way I feel in the morning. Hope none of you were on that
flight. lol

I've been driving a semi for over 40 years, just passed my 2 year DOT physical again,I'm 63,"husky" too. They measured my neck asked a bunch of questions, and I filled some forms out.Don't take any medicines, have good BP,can still hear and see well,no smoking or drinking, feel good.Gave me my card and papers, said see you in two more years.Snore some I guess, but I sleep well at night, never fell asleep driving.
