They seem as real as any supplier. They sure can undercut others prices. I often like to by local (I have the main
warehouse for Value Auto, and a good NAPA and O'Riley's. Compare. Jim

(quoted from post at 17:06:44 05/03/16) Need to get some parts. Anybody have dealings with Rockauto. All help appreciated.

I have not personally, but my dad has and does purchase from Rock Auto on a very regular basis.. I'll guess he's ordered from them at least a couple dozen times. Very timely to get parts (usually 2-3 days), as was said. Once he got either a defective or incorrect item, and they were very helpful in the return/replacement process from what I remember.

Personally, I myself buy most of my parts local, but usually when I need a part, I need it now.. But if it isn't a immediate attention needed repair I have had dad order a couple things for me.

Brad

I've ordered several times, good prices and fast delivery, they have lots of warehouses
nationwide so delivery is within 2 to 3 days in most cases.

I bought from them a coupla times but their freight is usually a killer. I had better luck with ebay or Amazon for free freight.

A couple of things to remember about RockAuto. You CAN save money with them...but you must compare your costs with a few other suppliers to be sure. One other supplier is Amazon.
When you order a few items from RA, try to make sure that all of your purchases come from the same warehouse. RA could ship from several places, and when they do, you will have two (or more) separate shipping charges.
ALWAYS compare your order to Amazon. Sometimes you can save some money with RA, sometimes it can be cheaper to get the same item from Amazon at a cheaper price, especially if you are an Amazon Prime member where you get free shipping. Also remember that closeout items from RA can save you money, but sometimes their closeout items might be 20 years old. Which isn't a bad thing if you order a brake rotor, but a 20 year old oil filter might be dried out.
BTW, the last time I ordered a big ticket item from RA, it was a rebuilt engine. The price to my door, shipping included, was $1650. The exact same item from Amazon was $2300. However, that does not guarantee that RA is always cheaper.

I have done business with them a few time and have always been satisfied. I needed a plastic grill for my Mazda pickup. They had it at a very reasonable price, but the shipping was more than the part. I clicked on a pop-up on the side of the screen for "Parts Geek". They had the same grill at the same price but the shipping was a fraction of Rock Auto's.

All good with R. A. experiences so far. When I have some off the wall antique part, the folks at the Annapolis NAPA dust off the books under the counter and help me track down what I need. Old time countermen are priceless. When I need something easy I don't mind lettin them make a buck. If we mail order everything I fear that will be our only option.

I get wholesale prices from most of the parts stores around here, and RA saved me $60.00 on a fan motor on the truck.

If you Google "rock auto discount code"
and put that code in the " how did you
here about us" box at check out you
save 5% on your order.

I've got a friend at work who paid his way through engineering school by wrenching on cars and he's
always recommending Rockauto to folks who ask him for this kind of advice.

Needed wiper blades for the wife's car, took a look at blades on truck needed
them to. Went to Oriellys, about fell over at price of blades. Checked RA ordered
4 blades and payed freight, price was cheaper than one blade at Oriellys. Have
ordered other items from RA, good service. Bob

My experiences with Rock Auto have been good. I try to do business with the local auto parts suppliers, but they sure make it difficult. If you need anything the least bit out of the ordinary, you'll save time, money and aggravation ordering through RA.

Name brand parts pretty cheap. I use them frequently as long as I can wait for a repair. usually takes 3-4 days for Missouri where I am.

I have used them and some items you can save ALOT of money on them if you can wait a few days for the items to show up. Last order stuff was coming from all over the place and I even tried to change my products to consolidate shipping but it ended up getting sent from a separate warehouse any how with extra shipping costs. I'm not too fond of their catalog either. I put in EXACTLY what info pertains to my truck and get all sort of choices that do not match my truck.
I have also used am-autoparts I think was another source. They don't sell everything but what they do is free shipping and good prices.

My wife orders things from Amazon all the time....shipping is LOUSEY most of the time - even with paying for Amazon Prime. They also ship from several different warehouses. We've had stuff shipped the day we ordered, and take two weeks to get here. I've ordered several times from RA, and ALWAYS had my parts within 3-4 days.

Amazon Shipping is Lousy??? must be your local delivery service. We receive thru them, hundreds if not thousands items over the years, delivery was and always has been prompt. We ship thru the US Post office, cheapest place we can find. Ordered a muffler thru R.A. came in 2 or 3 days.

Bought a lot of parts about a year ago to rebuild the 4.0l engine in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Good prices, good shipping and no trouble with any of the parts. Good customer support, called them with a question on one of the parts I ordered and got a correct answer on the first call. The only thing I would probably not get from them is a part with a core exchange as the return shipping could be costly. would not hestitate to buy from them again.
