bore (carpenter) bees

I have a machinery shed that has a 2 foot overhang to protect the sliding doors. The bore bees love the protected under side. I tried everything to discourage them, I even had the neighbor boy roll tar on the purlins thinking that would be perfect. Wrong. I just finished wrapping the purlins with screen wire. It wasn't hard, just time consuming. It has to work, doesn't it? Ellis

Thet arter stop tha carpinter bees, but tha snipper bees will go crazy. Theys tha one whut makes them round holes in yer screen door. They gonner have fun wit thet stuff outtin tha shed!!!!

Friend used "7" in dust form and a puffer. Blow the powder into the holes. After they are all dead you can plug the holes with furniture putty the same color of your wood. Some folks will tell you to spray the un painted wood with paint. Also with wood preserver. I had lots of fun with a tennis racket! Sharpens your aim and they go THWACK when you hit them. Friends porch was so bad I nailed over 60 of them in about an hour.

Around here we call those grandkids.

best remedy i've found is to go after dark with cotton balls and gas, right after dark take 1/2 a cotton ball soaked in gas and push it into the hole with a small stick....

is there anything one can do as far as pest control ,they are horrible eating my poplar lumber built garage ,. thankfully they have never stung me ,,.CAN THEY ???... it sounds like a bunch of jap zeros trying to sink my boat ,.. I keep a tennis racket handy, they are no match for that...

I pumped grease in them , they cant fly worth a hoot then, takes too long and way too much grease is wasted . like the cottonball gas , too time consuming ,, ..but it is kinda fun to mess with em..

this works great on carpenter bees Indoor/ Outdoor Pest Control, 13.3% Permethrin, 1 Pint

Our little female Boston Terrier loves to jump and try to catch them. She doesn't get too many but seems to love trying.
