Beginning to think I shoulda gave up on this tractor. Last 18 months, turbo, hyd pump, engine, now a spindle. Well it will be new sooner or later....

Now, where to go for a new/used one in season.....

Might want to pump a little grease to the axle pivot.

Unless the rock box is hiding a wedge between the frame and front end. lol

It's a whole lot more expensive to build one entirely out of repair parts than it is just to buy a new one.

Problem with another used one is you can't tell what's wrong with it until you get it in the field, and there will be something wrong with it. Could be worse than what you've got. At least what you've got is a known quantity.

Barnyard has it pretty well pegged. You know what you have so why should you trade it off for someone else's problems. Tractors go through break down streaks like that. Once the streak is over you will have a dependable tractor.

Should all come Thursday fornoon, spindle and hub and related bearings, $500.

I haven't been able to talk my wife into helping me out until then...... She said she wants to drive, not be dead weight.

Now, if I can get the tapered arm off the top of the spindle, sheez, that puppy is wedged on. I hate to get the fire wrench involved in things, but its not popping.

I've got one that I've put Twice as much money into than what its worth but I know what I've got can't get out of it what I got into it . And unless you buy a brand new one there's a good chance you'll be doing it all over again The way the new ones are made I don't think I'd want one anyway

I agree.

Got a year warrenty on the engine, so need to get it running again and get my hours on it. ;)

Frustrating, wife got laid off for 2 weeks, rained all of last week couldn't turn a wheel, got her going this week and 15 acres later...... She's busy on Saturday so my 'free' driver is running out of seat time.

Your finding out why Ford did not have much market share in the high horse power segment until the Genesis Series of tractors. The TW series KILLED Ford around here in the over 100 horse tractor market. The 9700 where a better tractor than the TW series.

Worthingtons here in MI just got a big Ford in last week. Haven't been out in the yard to check it out yet, but it looked like a 9600 from the road. I go by there numerous times a week and usually stop when I see new stuff that has arrived for salvage.

I remember 20 years ago I went to Rock Valley Iowa to get a spindle for my 856. There was a guy there getting parts for his 4430 and he was talking about how many parts he had put on that thing in the last year.
