wiring diagram of SM for lights?

Where can I go to see a wiring diagram of a SM that is 12v positive with a generator . I'm trying to put on new lights. The ammeter and light switch does not work so I need to replace them also. I look at so mean different ones that I'm getting turn around. The ones that I see are with a alternator and are 12v positive to ground. My is not positive to ground. And how do I know if the light switch is 3 or 4 position so I know which one to order?

There should be a wiring diagram in your owners manual.

IIRC the older Farmall's used the 3 position switch and the newer ones went to the 4 position.

I would jump over to the IH forum here on YT and ask.

The Super M uses a 3 position (Off-Dim-Bright) light switch. Power from the fuse gets wired to terminal #1. Connect the rear light to term #2; the headlights to #3.

You got it backwards old ones used 4 and newer used the 3 position sw

3 position. (It's a sketch of the OEM switch wiring on my late '53 SM...)
