John Deere 600 high cycle

Looking at a JD 600 high cycle. Have searched tractor data with no success.

Has a 4 cylinder engine, is this engine good or bad?

Where is sprayer pump located? How is it activated? Is it hard to replace? Expensive?

How high is this tractor to top of steering wheel?

Can tread be moved in to 72" for two rows ( plant on 36" rows)?<

What is the weight of this tractor?

What is the propulsion for each tire: chain or hydrolic?

p>What is value of one? Decent tread, need battery and carb most likely rebuilt?

Thank You

Engine is JD design which if 4 cylinder would be the 115 CID similar to a JD 1010 tractor with a gasoline engine with all 4 liners built on a plate. You can view Hi-cycle parts catalog #792 at JDparts.com.

Rear axle is chain driven.

Thanks for your answers Tx Jim. I could not pull up the page you referenced. The motor is gas. The one you listed, is it prone to problems?
You mentioned " liners built on a plate". Does this mean they are not rebuild able, they are expensive to rebuild, hard to rebuild? Any info you
can give me is appreciated. I do not wish to buy a money pit.

Thank You

I have a 734 that I bought for a collectors item. It has a 3 cylinder gas engine. 7 means about 70" of crop clearance. 6 means 60" crop clearance. The 34 means 34" rows. It would work on 30" rows. The 700 or 600 would be 40" rows.

I paid around $1200 for it with 600 hours. The pump is belt driven off the engine. I assume you could replace it with about any type of belt driven pump with a little fabrication work. I have never used mine, since I don't farm and it is too big to spray my lawn! They are very unstable with an empty tank. They are more unstable front to back and I have heard of more flipping over backward than side to side.

Liners on plate although expensive are still available if required. Engine isn't prone to problems other than minor challenge of installing all 4 liners simultaneously.
