I just pulled a package of 'Wright's' Hickory smoked bacon out of the fridge to fry up. Package felt light. It was 1.5 ponds weight! I paid $8.92 for this package.
I wemt to my freezer and checked a package I had bought about 3 weeks ago. It weighed 2.0 pounds! I had paid $7.82 for this package!
$1.10 increase for 1/2 pound less bacon!
So, the price of corn and soybeans are dropping, fuel costs are dropping, wages stagnant, meat prices are falling....
I guess...the only thing left is the hickory chips to smoke the bacon with. to warrant this price increase.
How else could you justify it?
