Can anyone help me with what motor I need for this mower

That originally had a 3hp briggs & Stratton horizontal shaft similar to a BG300.

hmmm, thats seems reasonably safe!! what could happen? anywho my neighbor has a couple of those, and one is by my fenceline. i'll see if i can get a few pictures. i think his has an old kohler on it, prolly not the same brand tho.

You'll want to keep that original! It came with a Hoyt Clagwell motor!

Chebby 350 V8...might have to air up the tires, maybe go to the optional oversize. Or duals.

For some reason it seems to me a Clinton engine Should be on it. Scattered parts eminating from both the front and back of the mower comes to mind. LOL

Thanks for the reply,Do you have any idea what size sheave would be on the shaft.It should be a double sheave and I would think the one that operates the wheel would be smaller
