Ford 8000 Hydraulics

Long story short the remotes on our 1968 8000 only build about 500 PSI. New pump is on order, but I don't have a manual for this tractor. Anyone have an idea on how to get to the pump? Or maybe the hydraulic pages from the manual?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, it's bolted to the side plate just ahead of the right axle housing. If the tractor
wheels are widened out, it shouldn't be too bad of a job to change.

Well it has duals on it right now and things are super tight. Im assuming its under the same plate the filter is on?

It's on the right just like stated. It's a bear to get to
but definitely doable. Make sure to clean the old
sump real good. I don't think they Are available any

If I were doing it I'd take the wheels off. It makes
that job so much easier to do. Does yours have a
filter on the left side? There was an update done to
those tractors to add a suction filter. If it doesn't
have one I'd look into adding it , the strainer that
originally came on the tractor is no longer available.

If your sitting on the tractor the spin on filter is on the right. I drained the system and added a new filter( probably 30 plus gallons of some mixture of hydraulic fluid and water came out) Buddy got it cheap. From what I found online it takes a little over 10 gallons but the change didn't help anything. Actually nothing would work until I pressed on the brakes and tried the remotes at the same time.

If you haven't already, might want to post this in the Ford forum.

Don't know how far you've dug into it, may not be the pump.

On a 5000, for example, there's a square shouldered oring under the lift cover. If it blows out,
you wont get much pressure.

Just food for thought
