Update on terramite tire

I was using the wrong tire shop. A friend told me about a tire shop in Sullivan, In
where they put a blue/green slime in tries. First pic is a spot the slime left left in
my truck bed. He uses it in his bobcat tires and claims you can run over nails, not a
problem. Well we will see, my tires are a magnet for nails.

They removed the tube I had installed about a month ago at a different tire shop where
they left a valve stem inside, along with dirt, leafs and sticks.

Sullivan tire said they put a lot of the sealer in equipment used in local coal mines,
and in farm implements. My friend used to work in one of the mines.

They put 4 patches inside old tire, cleaned up the mess, and filled it with 2+ gallons
of sealer for $48. I told them they will have my business. I have two backhoes, a
Farmall C and a Jubilee.

I keep you posted if I ever have an issue with the blue/green slime.

I've very happy I didn't have to buy a new tire.

Has anyone else used the blue/green slime which looks thicker than the green slime and
it drys when exposed to air?

George,
Why don't you fix your own tires??? It's not that hard to do.
I just replaced a rusted out 36" rim on a Case 511B. It took much more time to locate and pickup a new rim than dismounting the tire and remounting it with a new tube
I dismount and remount all tires with the rims mounted to the tractor wheels and use a slideing hammer bead breaker to knock the tire beads loose when removing the tires'

When I was younger I did everything. Now I like watching someone else do the work. My old body hurts less.

The first time I ever seen that stuff was around 1980, my bud at the scrap yard swear by it. I have had good luck with it as long as the tire was not aged out and rotted. The only times i have seen it be a issue with the rim if is when the rim was not prepped from the factor correctly it would rot out slime are not...

Tire work if it will not fit my tire machine like you I farm it out I make 3/4 times what they charge to change a tire,,,, I had rather they had the satisfaction...

I used a version of that stuff in the dry rotted front tires of my Kawasaki mule, air was hissing thru all over, put it in, drove around and much to excitement no more air leak that I could hear. Next morning both tires flat, pumped em up and used the mule, about 3 days kept doing this and figured oh well better start pricing out tires, then to my surprise they sealed up and 2 years later still hold air just fine!

I agree.

I mount/dismount/change all of my own tires.

Much better results.

Of course, I never use liquid ballast.

Nails jump in front of new tires too. If the slime works like they claim. I'll put it in new tires too.

$48 for the fix. Cheaper than $215 for new.

anyone who has faith in it has NEVER owned a tire shop. I have removed that crap from dozens if not hundreds of tires over the years. NEVER seen it work. It makes 1 huge mess when breaking a tire down, cant help but get it all over you. When it goes flat again -- and it will -- be sure and tell your tire man you put it in there, before he starts to work on it.
