Bought a David Brown 990 at an auction cheap a couple weeks ago, have pretty much gotten it squared away except the power steering leaks at the steering sector. How
involved is it to fix this? And will a manual steering box bolt into the same spot?

Hydrostatic steering? You mean the Orbitrol valve at the base of the steering column?

If the Orbitrol is leaking, they can be resealed(new replacement was under $500 last I checked). Could put a manual box and draglink in if you wanted to.

It could be something as simple as a loose fitting or cracked line. It's awkward to handle alone if you have to take it off, but it's pretty simple. Manual will probably fit fine, but the mounting and drag link, etc may be different. I know they are between the hydrostatic steering and power asst steering. Hydro is the way to go.
