white 5100 setting up planter

trying to figure out the gearing on a white 5100 4 row with 5 row splitter. going to use it for beans. want to plant a population of 160000 per acre. has 120 cell plates.
book really dont break down the splitter unit. rows are set on 38 inch (splitter makes them 19 inch rows). can anyone read the book better than i can? shooting for the 5 mph range.

Not sure when using a splitter, but I double plant my 36" rows with my 5100. I think I shoot for 3 seeds/ft of row to end up in the 160 to 170,000 range. Take the setting for 160,000 and cut it in half and try it, you might need to slow the rate down a little more.
Does the splitter have a separate transmission and drive or does it run off of the main planter drive? I think this will get you close for starters and adjust from there. Chris

it drives off the main trans. looking at the book talks about pounds of seeds per acre and then you go back a page and equate that based on the pounds per acre to seeds per foot. and then you take that number times 4 as its the corn calculation and then i "think" i take that number times 2 because it's on 38 inch rows. so, if the corn seed chart says 20000 times 4 is 80000 times two for the splitter is 160000 per acre..
maybe.
