15.5 and 18.4 tires

I wouldn't. I would be OK with putting a 16.9 on your rim, or a 18.4 on a rim that originally had a 16.9, but I wouldn't jump up TWO sizes.

It's ok if you mind looking short on the backside. The 15.5 is also a short sidewall ratio, low profile tire compared to the 16.9 & 18.4 etc.

Way back replaced 15.5's on 706 IHC with 16.9's......made total difference in what I could do with the old gasser...

B&D brought up a good point, the 15.5 was an odd duck short sidewall tire designed to be a 13.6 height, 18.4 will be much taller.

These 18.5 on a rim that came with 15.5.38 works fine

Look at how much lower the rear end is than the front. By always driving uphill the tractor is wasting fuel.

15.5x38 takes a 14" wide rim. 18.4x38 takes a 16" wide rim.

It will be a JOB to pop a set of 6- or 8-ply 18.4x38 tires on to 14" rims. You can cram them on there but the treads will be bulged out and the tire will wear funny.
