Starting to work on ford 600. Engine turns over with wrench. Starter won't crank. I tried a 6v battery charger to starter but no go. Need a stronger source? Maybe a 12 v? Is a 6v system. Thanks n advance. Tried to charge battery but no crank. Maybe starter froze? Can that be tested on bench if off tractor? It has sat outside a while so not sure if bigger issues. Electrical kind of a mess. Thanks

You won't likely get it to turn over with just a charger. Temporary a 12v battery in and see if it will turn. It won't hurt the starter, just don't crank for very long without letting the starter cool.

Clean tight and bright so you need to check and clean every connection from the battery to the starter. You can also try a jumper from the ignition side of the battery to the starter but be 1000% sure it is out of gear if you do that
