OT - Old Farm House - New Stripes

Several years ago I bought a Simplicity Landlord DXL (foot controlled hydro) with a bad engine for $100. Found another engine out of a Simplicity that was similar - but had a bad tranny. Paid $100 for it. Aside from some general maintenance parts, have essentially $200 in the tractor. 50 inch deck, rollers across the back.

Farm house: My oldest boy is 5th generation on this farm - to give you an idea of the age. My Great Grandfather built the house.

My Son REALLY likes the ''art'' of putting down stripes when mowing.. Pretty cool IMHO.

Next time he will go crossways to get a checkered pattern. Mowing, while is a chore, can be interesting and fun.

I can smell that from here! No one has cut their lawn here yet. Waiting on that first whiff of Spring...followed by a sneeze.

Yesterday took the blowsnower off the garden tractor and put the mower deck on today. Cut a little to see if it still worked.

That is just downright nice!!! I am a 4th generation farmer on the same place. I understand the connection with the land.

Several years ago I bought 50 acres that borders by Great Grandfathers place, before he bought what I call the home place, in 1904. I know your son has pride in the place.

I like doing that too. I cut the neighbors grass as well and its nice to look back when I have done both lawns. I often times windrow the cuttings when mowing, by going the opposite way each pass, then once dry like hay, I use it for mulch, and feed for some tiny critters I keep, mainly for the manure for compost in the garden.
