I remember one time,Paul Harvey telling about tin smugglers. The price was ridiculously high. He said that most of what we thought was tin wasn't.

Are you talking about "Tin" or "sheet metal".
Sheet metal or light gauge metal is not "Tin", it is a form of carbon steel.

I would believe that Tin itself would be very expensive.
Just wondering.

I am surprised that the price for this old rusty thin gauge metal is that high.

Wish I had a couple tons of actual "Tin" to sell.

I remember when I was lucky to get$5 to!10 a ton, 30 years ago. The most I ever get for rust was $200 ton about a year ago before it tanked.

Footnote, I was the only customer there. Business is so bad, recycler said many other business have closed, so he is seeing people from Illinois.
