My backhoe looses speed bad on grades. The engine doesn't lose any rpm. So it has to be the torque converter or the forward, reverse clutches. How do I tell which is slipping. I have ask the same question on the Case forum. Thanks Vic.

If you can spin the wheels when pushing in low gear your clutches are OK. All the backhoes I have run that didn't have a working torque lockup have been pathetic on hills.

had a 555 ford that acted like that, thought it was worn out engine, turned out it was the torque converter, ford had a variable pitch torque and the fins were stuck....might check into that with case
