John Deere70 gas

took the valve cover off the head and found a rusty mess the two middle rocker arms are rusted tight looks like water run down the push rod holes in the head down on the rockers are the 70 gas heads prone to crack? or push rod tubes that can leak? started to take the head off to look at the gasket but I must have to remove the exhaust manifold first I got the two intake bolts out but exhaust side another story I was hopeing to take head and manifold all as one not enough room I hope its just a head gasket but I now my luck not thanks for any advise Howard

Last Spring removed the oil drain plug on "1011" one of our 1953 Model 70 gas tractors and had antifreeze in the oil.

Mechanic removed the head and it was cracked, so a new head was installed.

No problems with the new head.
