Any other Michiganders getting surprised?

I never thought we would get any more of this white fluffy stuff but I guess I was wrong. Already have half an inch or so on the ground and coming down steady. Supposed to get around 2 inches total today.

Was gonna post a pic but can't get it to load.

Its been snowing on and off west of Traverse City since about 6:00 last night. Today it comes down real hard at times with poor visibility, then stops for a while, and actually acts like the sun wants to come out. So far it hasn't. Fortunately the ground is warm enough it isn't piling up, and so far the roads are only sloppy wet. Maybe 3 inches now is all. Weather guessers are saying we could get several more inches tomorrow. Ready for it to be done.

You guys must be north to of me. Here in Howell, it isn't sticking yet......????

no "surprises" here ! Pretty much expected around here. I remember on Apr. 6th in 1970, the day before I flew out to Fort Polk LA for basic training , it snowed 6" of wet stuff. From the plane on the 7th, it looked like a flooded swamp all the way to Chicago. Michigan , a little of everything but not a lot of anything. Keeps the crowds away.

We had a good 4 inches near the Soo this morning. A little more in town, a little less further out.

Hasn't melted yet either.

Here's little pic of it just when it really started sticking.

I was looking at the blower a couple of days ago thinking it was almost time to dig the rear rototiller out and put the blower in its place back of the barn. I thought then it was still a little early yet.

I put my wife on a plane Thursday for Florida, she's down their laughing at me now. She's coming back Tuesday morning, I see they are calling for a low of 12 degrees Monday night. I still may get the last laugh when see steps out of the plane at Bishop Tuesday Morning.

Looks like there is more coming too! Last night came in from chores at 8:30 wasn't doing anything. Look out the door at 9:30 its snowing like crazy and there is a crazy heifer out. Go out to put her back in, the ground is white and the frogs are cheerpin' still, never seen/heard that before!

On may 23, 1963, shortly after reporting for duty at the radar site in the Soo, we received about 2". That was unbelieveable for a boy from Louisiana.

It's been snowing here in west Michigan off & on all day. I was hauling potato seed from the Fruit Exchange back to the farm in a snow storm this morning.

Here's another pic from earlier today. Everything is pretty much solid white now, and all supposed to melt tomorrow.

Hey RandyB, I remember that snow storm on the sixth of April in 1970. I was a kid, living in the thumb and two days after the storm, my dad had an auction selling all of his farming equipment.
Thanks for the memory,
Ted

We got an inch last night here in Alpena near the shore of Lake Huron. Having a white-out right now. Supposed to get another 5-6" by tomorrow.
