Hoist part 2

Thanks for all the suggestions on my concrete last November. Most of the floor was barely 4 inches. I had to cut it anyway as the columns would have lined up right on the saw cut line.

Piece of cake unloading it. The guy I got it from, his Kubota struggled to lift the columns, even with weight on back.

Cut out a 6ft x 16ft area. Width of hoist was just under 14ft.

The hole.

A huge pile of 2ft x 3ft slabs. I should have cut them smaller. They were a lot of work to wrestle up on the pallets.

To be continued.

Wow! That's a project. I've thought about a lift, but my shed is only a 12 ft sidewall. I think I'd need 14 or 16 ft to really use a lift.

Good luck!

I have had one under my shop porch with 12 ft high roof for 15 years. I just have to be careful and not run it all the way up. I painted the riser bright yellow where it comes up so I would know when to stop it. It is a good height to sit on a roll around stool and work under a vehicle.

Too late now, but for your next project, use a bar to pry up one edge of a slab, stuff a scrap of 2x4 under, then slide forks
in & lift away.
Only have to pry one up, can slip forks under the rest of slabs.

Most cars and puck ups are under 6 foot tall plus a 6 foot lift height. That beats the heck out of a creeper.
