Just got back from my annual physical with the VA at the Lincoln, NE outpatient clinic.

Two weeks ago, I got a letter reminding me it was time for my annual physical. I called a week ago today and made an appointment for this morning.

Blood profile, urinalysis, everything normal. I have a new assigned doctor, a lady from India. Young, good looking, great personality, and thorough. She really gave me a going over and found absolutely nothing wrong with this 81 year old carcass. BTW, I can't recall meeting a lady from India who wasn't good looking. Had several college profs, etc.

Had my hearing tested. The Audiology Dept. takes in "walk-ins" when they're not booked up. Last hearing test was 2009 and no change whatsoever.

Actually, I really haven't had anything change for years. My last doctor at the VA used to tell me, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it". When I told the lady this morning that I still had three years to go in a 4 year term in public office, she said, "That's great. Keep active". She also commented that too many people look forward to the day they can retire, then just sit around and do nothing and go straight downhill.

That last part, that's the problem with a lot of the older retirement plans that are running out of money. People are not retiring at 65 and sitting around doing nothing. Instead of dropping like flies at 70 now they are making into their 80's. Those older retirement plans figured people would only draw for about 5 years.

I had mine a few weeks back and only ting wrong is my PSA levels are back up. Seems every 2 years or so it is up so on pills to try to get it back down again. Since I have been going to the V.A. I have had 4 or 5 doctors and the one I have now is going to retire soon so not sure if I will see him again or not

They built a new clinic down here for us. My old dr retired last year and I got a new female from India. Ya'll are right, she is pretty and speaks English very well. The only thing is, she keeps getting on my behind about being somewhat overweight. Although my blood work comes back perfect in every way. They are really starting to crank down on opoids for pain too. I don't use them anymore so it's not going to hurt me but I do see people that really need the pain pills.
